Product Introduction

1. Product Overview & Natural Properties

This fuel oil is widely used in power plants for power generation, ships, as boiler fuel, heating furnace fuel, metallurgical furnace fuel and other industrial furnace fuels. It is mainly made from petroleum cracking residual oil and straight-run residual oil, characterized by high viscosity and high content of non-hydrocarbon compounds such as gums and asphaltenes.

2. Physical & Chemical Properties

  • Molecular Formula: A mixture of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons containing colloids, oxygen and sulfur.
  • Flash Point: Less than 23°C.
  • Appearance & Odor: Brownish-red viscous liquid with a special odor.
  • Solubility: Slightly soluble in water; soluble in various organic solvents such as benzene, ethanol, ether, chloroform and acetone.
  • Density: Relative density (water = 1) is 0.85~0.88.
  • Stability: Stable.

3. Uses

It is used for boiler combustion, road asphalt production, ships and power generation in power plants.

4. First-Aid Measures

  • Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and rinse the affected area with clean water.
  • Eye Contact: Immediately open the upper and lower eyelids, rinse with clean water or normal saline for 15 minutes, and seek medical attention.
  • Ingestion: Drink a sufficient amount of warm water to induce vomiting, and seek medical attention.

5. Fire-Fighting Measures

  • Combustion Products: Carbon dioxide (CO₂) and carbon monoxide (CO).
  • Extinguishing Agents: Carbon dioxide, water mist and sand.

6. Emergency Response to Leakage

  1. Cut off the source of ignition, evacuate personnel from the contaminated area, and strictly restrict access.
  2. Cut off the leakage source as much as possible to prevent the oil from entering waterways, flood ditches and other restricted spaces.
  3. Small-Scale Leakage: Collect the leaked liquid in a sealed container as much as possible, and clean the ground with sawdust.
  4. Large-Scale Leakage: Build dikes or dig pits to contain the leakage. Use explosion-proof pumps to transfer the oil to tank trucks or special collectors for recycling or transportation to waste disposal sites.

7. Packaging & Transportation

  • Packaging & Storage: Stored in storage tanks.
  • Transportation: Transported by tank trucks. Tank trucks must travel along designated routes and must not stop in residential areas or densely populated areas.
